Originally from Germany, I trained as Medical Practitioner in Hannover and as Dancer in Germany and the UK. I have been working as family physician, with special interest in psychosomatic medicine, for 29 years in Germany, London, and since 2010 in New Zealand. As a dancer I am interested in improvisation and in combining movement with other forms, such as visual arts and writing, and have a passion for movement exploration in nature. I studied at Laban Centre in London, with Anna Halprin at Tamalpa Institute California, and took part in the Soulmotion leadership apprentice programme with Vinn Arjuna Marti.
In July 2018 I participated in Myrna Martin’s summer school professional training in pre- and perinatal developmental work, level 1+2 in Canada.
Aware of the feeling- sensing-thinking- relationship, coming from a dance as well as health service background, I found interest in the movement- and learning- approach of the Feldenkrais method, and its positive effects on overall health and creativity. Curiousity around the essence and qualities of touch and and the desire to enquire deeper into touch and listening led me to train in Kahuna massage ( Na Pua Olohe, Hawaii) and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (Bodyintelligence Trainings, Auckland) , and to a deepening appreciation of the body’s innate intelligence.
I live on Waiheke Island, work as freelance GP in Auckland, and see private clients for Feldenkrais Functional Integration, BCST ( biodynamic craniosacral therapy) and Kahuna massage in my movement studio on Waiheke Island. I also teach movement and Feldenkrais group classes and workshops.
